Common questions
Is my book uploaded anywhere?
No. The checker runs entirely in your browser and your EPUB is read on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is stored.
Is this the same as EPUBCheck?
No, and we won't pretend otherwise. This is a fast preflight covering the problems that cause most rejections. EPUBCheck is the official W3C conformance tool and tests far more. Passing this doesn't guarantee a store will accept your file.
Why does my EPUB pass on KDP but fail on Kobo?
Because stores check files differently. Kobo expects a declared language and is stricter about structure. KDP rejects links to competing stores, and other stores can object to Amazon links. Full explanation here.
